Hearty Turkey Chili
Who’s hungry? I’ve got you! This chili is not only nutritious and delicious but downright cozy. It’s not too heavy, but is just hearty enough to keep you full, fueled, and satisfied. This is for sure one of my go-to’s when it’s a bit chilly out (no pun intended lol) because it’s also so quick and easy. Dinner can be on the table in 30 minutes, easy. And who doesn’t love that? This pot is a one stop shop for quality protein, yummy veggies, and good fats.
This little pot of joy is also incredibly versatile (it can even be made gluten free with a GF broth). You could easily adapt this little number to be exactly what your family would enjoy. Need more veggies? Add whatever you like. Need it more spicy? Add more jalapenos and your favorite hot sauce or cayenne pepper. What I do love is that there is already a special ingredient- refried beans. The beans help to thicken the chili while adding good fats and protein without having to use a slurry with flours. I like to add pepper jack cheese on top but you could do cheddar, monterey, even some parmesan. Oh, and did I mention the leftovers? A bowl of chili warmed up the next day tastes just as good when it’s made fresh. Enjoy!
